My boss at work has a Crownline 220. Not sure of the year but he had the cover cleaned and now it is way to small. We tried to put the cover on the boat yesterday but now it's about a foot to short and a good 8 to 10 inches to narrow. is there any way to get the cover stretched so it will fit. I'm thinking probably not given how much it shrunk. Thanks in advance.

Get the cover completely wet and lay it in the sun. When it is about 1/2 dry, put it back on the boat, starting in the center (front & rear) and working outwards. Sunbrella & other canvas' will stretch when wet and warmed from the sun.

Fireman is correct- they will stretch but I never heard of one shrinking more than a few inches-- a foot seems extraordinary.

yeah, what Fireman said, where did he have it cleaned? all I do is lay mine out on the clothes line and hose it off, scrub it a little bit and then once its almost dry retreat it and then put if back on the boat to restretch it.

What is it made of, cotton? Never heard of a cover shrinking that much.
