A couple of weeks ago, I posted, on this site, a complaint about a custom made iboat cover not fitting my Key West 152CC. After a long and difficult time trying to jump through all of their hoops just to get permission to return it for evaluation so as to get my money back, and after paying a $56 "restocking fee", I discovered a huge error. If you google iboat boat covers, a knock off company's web page pops up...not the iboats web page that hosts this forum. If you need a boat cover, go to iboats.com...not iboatcovers.com. Then, select from their menu what you want, and go from there. Brad, at iboats.com, went overboard trying to get my problem solved, until we both discovered my error. Now, I want to apologize to iboats for what happened. Lesson learned!

That doesn't apply to just iBoats. Whenever you try to buy something on-line always search for Just the item first. Leave the manufacturer off the search. You csn then pick fom the listed sites turned up by the sesrch. Or as you learned - go to the site first then use THEIR internal search function to find what you want.

While I understand your confusion and frustration;

To be fair, iBoatCovers.com does not appear to be trying to deceive anyone.
Other than a site name that is similar to iboats.com, their web page is not a spoof page, and and does not attempt to make you think you are on the iBoat.com site. Different Logos, different look and feel.

There is also an iBoatTrack.com site that is not associated with the other two.
Also available is an unrelated iBoat Docking Station for the iPad.

iboats.com does not have a lock on the "iBoat" name (Capital 'B', no 's') like Apple does on the 'iPad'.

I sympathise with your problem.
The tale of caution here is that, as always, make sure you are on the web site you think you are on.
As you said, Lesson Learned.
