I had the original (snap on) manufacturer's cover on my boat when I bought it second hand. It shrank and became no longer usable. I then paid ($700+) for a customer made snap on cover as the boat's OEM no longer made covers for my model. It fit for about one season and is now TOO TIGHT! Does anyone have a recommendation for "fixing" too tight snap on boat covers? I have threatened to make cuts between the snaps and insert wedges but my friends say that would significantly compromise the integrity of the cover. HELP!!!!

try puting water on the inside, then while it is wet put it back on the boat to dry
that should let it strech out a bit

When my old one did that, I was going to soak it on both sides, then hang milk jugs of water from the short side to try and stretch it.

I scrapped the boat before that project came to fruition.

My covers were too tight when I the boat in dry storage in Florida. Since its been out here in Vegas, it has loosened up a bit. Snug, but no longer "Hard" to snap in place.

I reason the difference is it gets wet and drys "stretched" in place. Hence, my suggestion would be: Snap one side or as much as you can. Get it really wet, and stretch it into place. Remember, the inside of your boat will be wet so you to insure ventilation to prevent mold and mildew. If you still can't snap it, get some tarp grips/clamps and use webbing to pull the cover a little at a time.

If you have support that hold up the cover just make adjust them smaller and it should fit. That was was wrong with mine. I have a pole support in the front and back.

Wetter is better!

Soak it and fit it on and let it dry outside...good as new.
