Re: Boat Cover

exactly my fear and the reason for starting this thread .... I have no doubt that it will be expensive but I guess it might pay to find a reputable shop that will custom make one for our boat and let them pick the fabric

Jim

I totally agree. I paid $500 or so for my cover and it was a compete waste of $.
Next time I will spend double that and have something that really works. You save nothing in the long run buying a cheaper cover.

From what I've heard Aqualon or Sunbrella are your best bets for fabric.

In the pontoon world, people who tow without a cover outnumber those that do about 9 to 1.

Re: Boat Cover

I had a custom sumbrella one made last year and couldn't be happier. Yes it on a pontoon. One winter and one summer on it and all most no mold, their is a bit on the back of the bench seats where their is no air movement. No fading that i can tell so far.

While I can tow with mine I don't. I don't really see a point in doing it and maybe doing damage.

Most people that tow with covers on the pontoons say they do for improved aerodynamics and tow-ability. I've heard it makes a big difference but not sure if I could. The shops around here all make them to be towed for this reason.
