Keeping this in the Starcraft forum as I'm primarily interested in feedback on these old hulls. Looking for a cover for my MR180. It usually sits in the garage, but I'd like something to keep the dust off over the winter and the occasional times it may sit outside to protect from rain. Also during those inclement weather days when trailering. Currently looking at the Classic Stormpro or the Carver Custom. Any experience with either of these? Other recommendations. Bonus points for direct experience on a Starcraft MR or Mariner hull.

If you are going to trailer with the cover on, then get a custom made cover....costly yes, but they will last far longer. Already made over the counter covers are great if not towing, but the towing does create excessive wear and tear on a cover so fit becomes critical !

My last two boats I bought Carver Sundura covers. They have held up very well. My boat sits out all spring, summer, and fall. I store it indoors in winter. Never got one drop of water through it. Color hasn’t faded very much , and not a single rip or tare. I’m satisfied with it.
I don’t trailer with it on so can’t speak for that.

I recently tried the carver sundura. It does leak slightly... mostly at the seams and even at that I'm talking a teaspoon of water after an inch plus of rain in about 20 minutes... it's a non issue. It fits well enough I'd trailer with it but I usually just rock the cockpit cover for that. Depending on your hull the semi custom is probably fine, I had to go up one size more than they reccomended because of my swim platform. Too short to go around it, to long to be taught just going to the rub rails. The only real issue is the cut for the windshield is a little far back... but I can't complain for the price.
