Anyone use the one piece boat covers like Seal Skin in snow country? Curious to know what you do to deal with snow piling up on the cover? Do you have to keep the amount of snow down to a minimum to avoid stretching/tearing the cover?

with any cover where there is snow, you need to have sufficient supports under the cover to keep the snow shedding off. I used to park a framework of PVC pipes under the cover with a fan hanging on it to keep air circulating.

In snow country, your far better off to create a framework with some type of cover to support the snow weight then you can use any type of cover. Just a cover alone in heavy snow will shorten its life considerably ! Many suggestions have been made under this post for solutions. Using a cover by itself for snow loads is asking for trouble.

I'm in KY so not exactly snow country but for around 3 years I used a seal skin cover over top of my sunbrella snap on covers with support poles in place. We did get one big for KY snow during that time, probably 6-7 inches The covers held up well before I could get to it to and push the snow off. I liked the cover.

That's what Ive been doing for 5 seasons here in CT. After large snowfalls, I'll get out as soon as I can to clean it off, but no big rush. Holds up nice.
