The shift cable needs to be changed at the control. Most built-in controls can be changed. Bolt-on side-mounts usually can't. The motor is already equipped with water pressure and speedometer hoses. Kits come with the motor to connect them. I'd take it back and have them complete the job. That's a slam-dunk lawsuit had you damaged your boat.
