I'm looking to extend my boating season by getting a boat heater. I'm not looking to "heat" the cockpit but I'd like to take the "chill" out. I looked in the iboat store but didn't see anything like what I'm looking for. I have found a system here;

Does anyone have any experience with these or know of an alternate method.

Re: Boat Heaters

If you have an inboard or an I/O, you can use that system, or, it would be pretty simple to install some hoses from the block to an automotive-style heater core. These hoses could route engine cooling water to the cockpit, send it thru the heater core, and you could blow some air over the core.

If you have an OB, there are camping type heaters, that could be used. Natural gas and alcohol are a bit safer that propane, since their fumes rise.
