Boat History Searches

Hello all, before I start to pay any kind of money to find this out, does anyone know of any free websites to search the hull ID numbers to find out who the current owner is and/or any kind of issues the boat has had in the past. I do understand how to read the HIN such as manufacturer and year, just trying to find out the history without paying more than $30. As always thanks guys.

I would NOT do it. It is not tracked like a car and it's a scam in my book.

There is NO such record in existence, at least for non-yacht type boats. Every state has its own registration system, none of which talk to each other. There is also no mandate for insurance or accident disclosure.
