Re: Boat Hop .. Motor height ??????
I have had my daughter at 70 pounds and my golden retreiver in the nose and it still porposes. I had 4 girls about 70 pounds each in the nose and it was not as dramatic but still wants to porpose. The X height is 1.5 inches above the V of the hull. I have a hard time beliving that this boat jumped like this when new. why any one would accept it like this is beyond me. I really want to do whatever I can to correct it. Trim tabs are my last resort. I just want to make sure that everything has been looked at befor I do this mod. I added the hydro plate to the engine.. hoping for a improvement , I might say it planes a bit quicker but no diffrence in porposing. there is nothing in the back of the boat that does not have to be there. Fuel tank and battery. Hey silly question do fuel tanks have a baffle in them ? 18 gallon remote tank. cant believe that would cause such incessive hopping though. Also I would worry about the gas charged shock trim tabs pushing down when the boat is not moving. If I beach in the weeds or sand they may get torn off. I know a lot of you out there run in "big " water but I run in all sorts of water. Lakes rivers resevors. (even my pond) I have read too that a diffrent prop may help (mine is a 12.25x21) SS 3 blade. I would truly be amazed is a 4 blade would help that much (or any for that matter) Sadly I do not have funds to just try it.
