I just bought an 80's open bow Orrion. Roughly 15ft long. It has an OMC 4cyl engine. But I am unable to find specs on the boat so I can purchase some needed parts here on iboats. Is there a way to find out?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Re: Boat Identification

Orrion was only in business from 1973-1982. Do you have a model name for your boat? That would help in finding specs. I couldn't find a 15' I/O model.

Do a Google search for Orion Boats and you'll get to the listings here on iboats.com for them, where they go model to model with some specs.

Bottom line is that you won't find any replacement parts for the boat itself for sale. Replacement parts for the engine and drive are another matter, although even some of those may be hard to find.

There should be a capacity plate somewhere on the boat, along with a Hull Identification Number plate.

Boat companies that are out of business are a dime a dozen. What parts do you need?

Re: Boat Identification

I wanted to get a bimi(spelling ?) top. Wanted to get a new spray shield. but the only thing that is most needed is a shifter cable for the OMC 4cyl. engine. I believe it is electrical the piece that mounts on the engine has contacts. This boat will be for my sea scout program so first and foremost i need safety. Are the 79' - 82' parts interchangeable?

Hopefully this pic will help.

Re: Boat Identification

your motor questions need to be posted here, along with the cable request.

bimini's are universal, you need the width of the boat, the length of the top you want. also the height from the mountiing point to how high you want it.
