Re: Boat Insurance?

Well I finally got word back today that my insurance has been reinstated. They thought I had a 229hp outboard, not an I/O.

Just what I said-- no one makes a 229 hp OB. SF knows nothing about boats. How much coverage for a spill? Mine is $864,000.00 and cost less than my SF agent of 40 years could do. I also have 'agreed value' which will not go down no matter how long I have the boat.

Sounds as though they really don't know boats, or maybe it's just your agent that is uneducated. I found them to be quite a bit higher than most others even with the discounts for multi policies.

Re: Boat Insurance?

I have it insured for $3500 for the moment while it's being rebuilt and that's only $7 a month. That will likely change once it's done and ready for the water, I'll probably continue looking into BoatUS.
