Now if he is into wake boarding, having his MIL in the boat a big plus.I know alot of people that add those big bags that fill with water just to make a bigger wave.

Rampart, serious reply here. Do you mean the cruiser is moored in 3' of water or the shuttle is moored in 3' of water? (sorry if thats an ignorant question, no idea what kind of draft a 23' cruiser would require). If it's the cruiser, what is the lake bottom made of? Almost seems like you might be able to make some type of 'stairs' that would attach to the side or back of the cruiser and rest on the lake bottom that you could ferry out in the shuttle with you. And if the cruiser is in 3' of water, seems like it would be even easier to make a similar set of 'stairs' to help get into the shuttle...

The platform could be built with a ladder for her to exit the small boat onto the platform. From the platform to the cruiser would be just like any dock or pier and the ladder and platform could have railings at strategic locations. Getting in to and out of the small boat near shore would be a matter of wading and stepping into or out of the boat.

300 lb is "heavy", but it's not obeese. If she is otherwise healthy and active she should be able to do it and enjoy herself. Having an appropriate sized PFD (on both boats) would be advisable.

BTW: Any of us could find ourselves with a disability in an instant. It's not nice to make fun of someone at their expense.

If its only 3 foot deep out to the mooring why can't you get a mechanical digger in to dredge you a channel up to your landing stage. Once on board don't forget to hoist your Signal for deep draft vessel!! Sounds like it would be needed ;)

For a distance of 200 yards (2 football fields)? I think many of us overlook that part in what otherwise would be creative, feasible solutions.

God..... what ever you do do not put a cheap life vest on her...had a similar problem and thought a cheap vest was the solution. what happened was she all 300# jumped in and my GOD she fliped over and oh my GOD.... the site was un bareable. no one wanted to come back if she attempted boarding again

C'mon Rampart,

Although 90% of these replies are kidding, give us some feedback as to whether any of the serious ones helped!

I think you're all missing the point. Look to the future: if his MIL is 300#, how long before her daughter is there too? Now that's a long-term problem....

Or did I just cross a line here?

If they can't swim and crawl into the boat from the water.... THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE BOAT! For their own safety and their potential rescuer.
