boat leans while underway

1987 bowrider with a vee hull type shape with a 3.0l merc, boat will lean over
bad to one side depending on which way it wants to go. the leaning was more pronounced with doel fin so took it off seem to be better put smart tabs on and adjusted to third position and i think its wose now are they just not adjusted right or is this an incorrectable problem.

You got water in the hull ? Wet foam maybe ?

foam is high and dry i actually took some foam that was wet out of the corners under the floor

Are you talking about it leaning on turns? its supposed to to that. Also single screw boats tend to lean one way due to the rotation of the prop.

Check the anode just above the prop. It can be turned way out of kilter and cause the boat to lean or list.

Try trimming the engine up when you get up on plane.

yep, if motor is angle too low on transom, it will push the bow down causing the problem you are having, trim out. check load especially in the transom, balance load. doe boat sit level when docked. move heavy butt, to another place in the boat.

You got some good answers here. Let me add a few more or at least a bit more detail.

The first indication that you are running with the bow down is the statement that you saw some improvement when you removed the hydrofoil. What you did is reduce the stern lift which reduces the bow down issue.

If the Smart Tabs are not adjusted correctly (too much stern lift / actuator pressure) then you will also create this listing. Reduce the actuator pressure!

If you do not trim out once on plane then the prop will cause excess stern lift. The prop should run perpendicular to the surface of the water.

Excessive weight in the bow could be an issue as well.

Since Smart Tabs can be adjusted and / or the actuaotrs changed, you should be able to make this correction easily.

Remember that the boat is more prone to listing when it is riding on the keel (bow down). Think in terms of a teeter totter.
