Hello, was wondering if someone could tell me which book I need. Ken Cook Company has johnson manuals for sale. They list 4 different books for the motor. 2 of which I know I dont need right now. But the other 2 are 1. owners manuel and 2.service manual. I need the one that tells hubby how the motor works, why it works and how to fix problems. I am guessing I need the service manual but wanted to make sure. Also was wondering if there is a way to rest the coil or pack at home.
Thank you for all your help,
Mary

Re: boat manuals

why does your husband need the manuals, is there a problem with the motor? if so service manual would help first. Owners manual is always helpful, it tells you how to look after and run engine properly. And do you mean "test" coil or pack (to see if you are getting spark?) at home?
if so, there are some tests and visual inspections, but a marine service center would have special equipment which will test accuratly.

hope this helps.

Re: boat manuals

He needs a manual because the bost was fine last year and this year will not spark. He is getting no spark from the coil or the plugs.
