Re: Boat Names

I'm thinking "Comfortably Numb" for my big boat since I'm a dentist. I thought it was at least classy if not overdone. I did see another HUGE boat once that was apparently owned by a dentist and the name was "Molarboat" which I thought was a little stupid....

Re: Boat Names

From The Flintstones episode: Divided We Sail

Barney wins a houseboat on the TV game show "The Price is Priced" (a brilliant takeoff of The Price is Right, right down to the oohing-and-aahing studio audience). Because Fred bankrolled Barney's TV appearance, he figures that the houseboat is partly his. The boys are able to compromise on the boat's name ("Nautical" and "Seaworthy" are rather clumsily combined into "Nau-Sea"), but when time comes to decide whether Fred or Barney will be the captain--well, that's another story! ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

(Btw, Wilma and Betty don't think much of the name.)

Hilarity ensues...

Re: Boat Names

We?ve owned two boats so far (Nautigal & Foolish Pleasure). There has been some discussion about renaming our current boat. We have 5 kids, 4 boys and 1girl. We?ve considered renaming it ?Bouys & Gills?. OK, for the slow folks that means ?boys & girls?. :)

Someday we would like to own a larger boat and we already have a name chosen? ?Fire Escape?

Re: Boat Names

Bought a boat (1989 Doral Cavalier) in July with the lame name of "Slipper Inn" so after a few months of searching through some tacky and clever names, I decided on the dual meaning name of "Knot Home".

Re: Boat Names

Now that my boat has finally stopped fighting me and is running well again, I have been thinking about calling it either "Sick Day" or "Mental Health Day".

Re: Boat Names

Our latest will be named the BobbiAlliAnna. It is a mixture of the names of my wife, grandaughter, and my wife's grandmother.

Re: Boat Names

I owned a CBX which is a 6 cylinder motorcycle, and on the rear fender I had, EXCESS IS INSUFFICIENT; sounds like a good name for a boat too.

Re: Boat Names

I come from a small fishing village where boat names become icons. When I was a boy I could identify and name everyone of them and their captains. One very small boat had a name that will always bring a smile. The name was in two parts. On the left side of the transom (port and starboard meant nothing to us) was "LIL" and on the right was "BIT" - some of you may recall the sexual connotation this combination of sounds imparts. I was told that the captain's name was Bitner and his wife's name way Lilly.

Re: Boat Names

"Nonferrous Freedom"? Aluminum is a nonferrous metal meaning it is not iron based and your boat is the freedom model...

"Knot Hers"

Do I realy have to do it, or want to?
