The blues on my boat seem like the are fading. I am not sure about the kind of wax you can use on a boat. Can you just use car wax or does it have to be special? I think its going to be a pretty big project but I want my boat to start looking a bit more shiney.

Don't use Vaseline, it will dissolve your boat into dust according to some here. ;)

I used Vaseline on my old boat with great results and would recomend it to anyone, but on my new boat that the gel coat is still in good condition I found that a good boat wax works better to shine it up. so go figure. I just keep mine garaged now so I don't have to worry about it.

I have a few spots that are oxidized, and i used regular rubbing compound and car wax. did i hurt the gel coat? it looks pretty good right now.
