So I was talking to my buddy, who also owns a boat, the other day, and I asked him "Is it wierd that I had a nightmare about my boat last night?"

The nightmare was that I found a tiny hole in my transom where water was getting in. When I picked at it, my hand went through the hole, and I discovered my whole transom was rotten all the way through.

He replied, "No I've had a couple myself." His were
1) He was on the lake, and his outdrive fell off and sank to the bottom of the lake.
2) His boat sank, and he was frantically trying to call me asap to come hook up to it with my boat and drag it out before it got ruined.

I thought having a hobby that caused nightmares like this was kinda weird. Do you guys have these dreams too, or do we just worry too much?:D

LOL
1) had one that I was trying to pull my boat out from the dock with only the bow above the water ...
2) I live near a MCAS and we have F18's overhead allot , I also had a dream that they lost a missal (unarmed) that went through my boat and sank it .

Nope, can't say I have! They said dreams come from your subconsious mind, stuff that you thought about even for a second turn into a fully scripted short movie while you're asleep.

Re: Boat Nightmares (Literally)

I just thought of another one I had a few years ago about my first boat...

I was pulling into my driveway with my wife in my car, and noticed her car wasn't in the driveway. I said "Oh no! It looks like your car might have been stolen." I wasn't too upset, but then after a second I thought "The garage door opener was in that car." I rushed to my car and opened the garage door with my garage door opener. When the garage slowly opened to reveal that the boat had been stolen too, THAT's when I woke up screaming.

That fit woke the wife up too. Then the real problems started when I had to explain why I was WAY more upset about the boat being stolen than her car.:p

even worse. i do J/E service. sometimes you hit something that should be stupidly simple to repair, and it does not work.

i wake up at night with the solution. has happened many times.

Not a nightmare but had a vivid dream last night that I had my own catamaran sailing around the Hawaiian Islands. Now we did just get back from a week in Hawaii and we did a few sailing trips as well so that might be a part of it! Dang, really didn't want to come back to the mainland but the credit cards were screaming in pain!

Once had a nightmare that I took the boat to a new dry storage place. They decided to store the boats on their small lake, without telling people they were going to change. Ended up have to swim down to put the plug in mine and wait for them to lift the giant "net" thing they had lined the lake with. All the boats came up with it, but I woke up before I could even start checking the electrical or engine.
