boat not secured to trailer

Last summer I was on my way to home when i saw a very stupifying site, an Aluminum boat laying in the middle of an intersection with teenagers trying to put it back on its trailer. It was an easy loader, roller type trailer, so i can only imagine they did not hook the nose or strap it, and gassed it hard at the light. Funny thing is most of the people delayed by this mishap didn't get to mad about it. Makes me feel better about some of the mistakes i've made

Years ago I was in line at Kinkaid lake in Illinois. Guy goes to pull out his old Glastron 16ft runabout. He gets the truck, backs it in. Then wife gets out of the boat and gets in the drivers seat, he drives the boat onto the trailer the with 3 squalling kids in the back. The kids are fighting and it distracts him, he fails to hook up the bow winch line. Signals the wife to begin pulling out. As the boat clears the water it starts sliding back on the trailer. Husband begins yelling WHOA! WHOA! Wife must have thought he said GO! GO! She puts the pedal to the metal and the trailer squirts out from underneath the boat leaving him and the screaming kids in the boat halfway up ramp. Wife doesn't realize what's happened till she's in the parking area. LOL.<br /><br />about a dozen of us lifted the thing back onto the trailer.

Ah...miscommunication at the boat launch...go figure. <br />It certainly makes for an entertaining day for others.<br />As long as there is no damage...I can laugh at it.

Wait......you mean to say that the boat attaches to the trailer at some point??? Oh man have I been doing things poorly!! <br /><br /><br />
