Boat opinions needed.....

I have two boats right now, one for inland lakes and one for lake erie. One is 16ft and one is a 21' center console.

I would like to get one boat that I can use both places.......

I realize I might sacrifice not being able to go out on lake erie on certain days like I did in the 21 footer.

Any of you guys have recommendations for a boat that is good for both? The thing is I do fish a lot of bass tournaments and don't want to loose the ability to fish small lakes.

Any help would be appreciated.....thanks.

18 ft. center console........next. :)

Yeah that'll work. Center console or dual console. Either of those search terms should be showing you mostly self-bailing hulls that can handle bigger water.

keep the 21' center console.

Or replace it with a 21' Carolina Skiff or other flats boat (but not a bay boat); it doesn't draw as much so you can fish skinny water. The ride will be a little rougher but you will be equally safe in big water/bad weather.

But really, I can't understand the concept of going from 2 boats to 1. It's better to go the other way. Lots of posts around here are people trying to buy ONE boat to do too many things (holds 8, goes off shore, fits in my garage, cabin/bathroom, trailer with a minivan, shallow water, costs $3000). Better to have different boats for different purposes.
