That turned out sweet . I just drug home my first Boat project last night 1974 Larson 1700 Shark . I will be repainting it and redoing the interior on it as well. I figure it will work for a few years till I chase all the kids out of the house then I will be looking for something a little more Sporty like yours :D.

Love that int. and the overall
Question...the bench seats...Original??
I am digging that look. I have '87 Bayliner and think those facing benches would be the way to go.
How anchored??

Thanx in advance,

A

as far as i know the seats are original but not sure ....i got the boat from a friend who got it from the original owner ...but im not sure if they have ever been done before ........they bolt inside the hull in the front and the back ....the pics where the seats are out you can see the holes where the bolts go through....so i just have to slide them into place and put a washer and nut on the back side and tighten them down

OH my!!! Now that is a sharp looking boat my man since you repainted it, nice scheme, i like it. Really attractive and eye catching.

You may be just the man in which i need to speak to in regards to the painting process and pick your brain a little whenever i am at the stage of my bass boat restore to paint my boat.

A ways out yet, but i am preparing for that moment, educationally speaking, a ways in advance.

tAke care, i am up for any advice in regards to painting, prior to, during and the aftermath of the process and the understanding of the science that it is.

That boat needs sunglasses because it's so cool! :D

Seriously though, a nice low black one piece wrap around windshield would set that whole package off.

First, let me say that your boat looks very good! Secondly I noticed in one of the pictures that you have a garage, that looks jammed packed. So did you paint your boat in your garage or on the driveway or somewhere else. Did you have alot of overspray and lastly did you paint the boat while it was on its trailer. One last question I promise, how many coats did you have to do and did you sand between each coat?
Let me say again that the boat looks very good!

hows it going bailey .... answer to your first question is i painted it in the driveway..... had no room in the garage...... so i painted it outside .....as for the over spray it wasnt that bad as long as you control the spray gun good there is not alot of overspray .........as for the boat being on the trailer, i left it on .....sort of......all i did was and i was worried that nothing went wrong was strap some tow straps around the outboard where it mounts to the boat got my engine hoist and lifted the boat off the trailer about a foot so i could get under it ....i did the same to the front after the back was done .....you can see it in one of the pics .........also i did 3 coats .....and i lightly sanded between them, just a quick once over with some 320 grit mainly on the top and sides. underneath i rolled and tipped it and didnt feel to confortable under there with the boat up in the air so i tried not to spend too much time under there....the sides and top i sprayed ......
