the parts i need are for a 1968 65hp jhonson most places that i have gone to tell me that most of the parts are no longer avaliable i belive that there are auto parts that would work on this motor i would hate to have to buy a new one this one runs like a champ if i can get some electrical parts for it

I'm affraid there aren't many auto parts that will cross reference to an outboard.What specific parts are you looking for?There are several parts still available for a 68' vintage motor.
#1 I need what the mauale that I have calls a safety switch witch when i went to my locale dealer said that the part is no longer avaliabel <br />#2 I need an amplifier that is the brains of the whole motorim sure with all the tecnologe that we have out there that there should be a way to get around these parts that will not cost me enough money that i could buy a new motor to use for this boat
Finding the parts is one thing.Finding them at a price of ones choosing is another thing altogether.Those amplifiers are high priced for sure.But the options are limited to an engineering redesign of the electrical system.

Im no expert but do you have the OMC part numbers for the items? There are many sites out there that have parts. Do a search on google by putting the part # and OMC as your search words.<br />Thats how I found a few items.<br /><br />Hope you find what you need.
