Re: Boat props x2 Help would be great!
***********update************
Ok, here's the update. Two aluminum 15x17 3-blade props is what I have now.....The boat has excellent hole shot and top speed is 45'ish. The bummer is simply, the motors are too high to take advantage of an meaningful trim. Last Motor trimmed 6 bars (LED Honda Digital gauges on both motors) and now all I can do is 3 bars. If I don't start out an the bottom, I will cavitate on wot at a stand still. I only have one hole I can drop and so I will go ahead and do that. I really wish I had 4" (one hole = 1 inch) to drop instead. The motors are the longest versions that Honda has. So, without jack plate x2, I guess I have to live with it....
The only advantage I see is that having the motors soo tucked up under the transome, It really pulls the bow down and chews through slop pretty well. I still cavitate under nasty conditions and doing maybe 3800 rpms. I know it ain't right. I wish I never had the knowledge to know what it SHOULD be...
1. How much diff can moving ther motors down 1" do for slipage and trim ability?
2. What prop will give me more bow lift and STLL hold without slippage? High rake?
