Boat question

Hello, I am thinking of buying an 89 or 90 vip vision for $500. It needs all of the interier and some floor work. It has been sitting outside next door since last summer half covered. It has the 2.3 I/O. Motor turns free and so does the outdrive. It also has an 08 sticker on it. Boats in mass are registered every 2 years. Is it worth it to buy it? Thanks

probably not. sounds like a full restore will be in order for it. at least boat wise. soft floor usually means soft transom and stringers too. either very expensive to have someone do for ya, or very time consuming if ya do it yerself.
a 2.3 is a pretty small engine too. ya didn't say, but if it's not a mercruiser or volvo, ya should move on to another idea..... with the economy like it is, it's most likely a buyers market....

Ayuh,....

I'd Run the other way,......

It's probably Rotten in the Deck, Stringers,+ Transom......
And,......
That 2.3l is probably turning an OMC outdrive, which is a Dead Horse,.....
OMC is Long Gone,+ parts are getting very hard to find, as well as Super Expensive........

Thanks everyone. I'll keep the money in my pocket. The engine is a ford 4 cyl. and does have the omc outdrive.
