Hey there guys, I'm doing research to see if it's feasible for me to write a book on our boat ramps. You know the thing, where are they, how much do they cost, how many lanes, what is the tide like, current, safety, nearest fuel supply........
You get the picture.
What I would like help with is I know of no books specifically on this subject and wonder what you have in your countries around the world. Any suggestions, help, or book titles I could look up would be great. If anybody has something just about the boat ramps in their country I'd love to get an idea how it's laid out, how big their photos are, and if their book works for them.
I can be contacted initially through this post.
Ross

Re: Boat ramp book

I usually look up any ramp information online..a simple search for boat ramps in the town/area gets me everything I need.

The problem with a book is that conditions change..ramps get re-graded...prices go up etc.

-JustMrWill

Re: Boat ramp book

Boat US provides a ramp locator online, Personaaly I think It's a great Idea.

You Could also make it a comedy. Of do's and don't with funny examples.

You might be better off if you made it a pamphlet that was region specific get marinas to advertise in it to pay for the cost, include a chart. People make a bundle here with the placemats that are nothing but ads and then provide them to diners free of charge. The advertisers pick up the tab and you leave a bigger box for an ad for the place you are leaving the pamphlets.

A pamphlet fits nicely into a glove box or door pocket than a book. just my $.02

Wish I could get my boat to NZ, But the Pacific Crossing Bridge is not started yet. I'd like to see on for all of Lake Michigan that is reasonable in cost.

Check the charts for your area. Most of the US coastal charts have some of this info now though not as detailed as you are thinking about. I think it is a great idea.
