Re: Boat ramps closed

Hickory Creek is in fact closed. I took a pass by it in the boat this weekend and while the water has receeded a couple feet from its peak, its still too high to use the HC ramps. The water is so high that you can't fit a boat under the 1-35 bridge any more.

We drove all the way around to launch at Hidden Cove on Sunday afternoon. Had to wait 45 minutes to put in and another hour to get the boat back out at the end of the day- which is by far the longest I've ever waited.

I'll say this though, the boys directing traffic keep it moving pretty efficiently on that three lane ramp and everyone we came in contact with was in good spirits despite the long wait and 100 degree weather. :)

I'm hoping the water level continues to go down and we get some more ramps open before too long. The admiral doesn't like busy ramps.....

Under that I35 bridge used to be my favourite Crappy spot. ;)

Re: Boat ramps closed

Went out yesterday afternoon......... Hit the lake at about 5PM it was so nice. Came out if Hidden Cover and the water was like glass. You don't see that on the weekends. Had the Old Eclipse Running about 52MPH. Never been that fast before, either too many boats or water is too choppy.

Thought I saw 57Whitehouse out there but as I got closer I figured out is wasn't. Here is a picture of my boat floating in the cove. If you see if me around say hello!! Usually have my handheld VHF radio on channel 16.

Nice boat dhath!

I'm determined to get on the lake this weekend, come hell or high......well, guess I'm just waiting on hell at this point. haha

I'd post a picture of my modest little rig, but I keep getting a message saying the process failed due to a difference in file size and what is allowed. My .jpg is 814kb; something like 97kb is allowed. What am I missing here besides a few brain cells?

(when I use the Manage Attachment tab, I can easily find the pictures I want that are stored in my computer. It just won't import)

Re: Boat ramps closed

I have a couple of imaging programs and I just resized mine. But photobucket is pretty easy and it is free.

Bought the old boat on ebay last year. It was in Lewisville so I was able to look at it before I bought it. Love it!!! Wife has started calling herself Gilligan. She is getting real good at backing the trailer in to launch and pick up, when we load by the time I have cleaned up and shutdown the tops side, she has the straps on plug pulled and we are ready to roll..... Nothing like a nice relaxing evening on the Lake after work to releive the stress.

Bareman very nice boat!!! If I see you out there sometime I will try to say hey!!

Re: Boat ramps closed

I'm on Lake Grapevine and used the ramp at Silver Lake Marina on Wednesday night. All the others are closed as the lake is 20' high. It's a private ramp and I don't know what the weekend rules are.

At least they are releasing from Lewisville... Grapevine is down only an inch in the last two weeks.

My boat is in the process of a carb rebuild. Hope to have it done in time to get out on the lake this weekend.
