Re: Boat Registration??

Well, Ihave never reged a boat from out of state or country, But that sounds a bit messed up. I cant see it mattering to them where the boat came from any more then some tax would take care of. There has to be more to there refusal then expired registration. I mean what does she expect you to do, register it in another country? I think not.

I would definitly call them back and question them a little more about why you cant register, then what you have to do to register. It has to be possible. Perhaps a Local Game Warden might have a answere. Maybe you need a US title or somthing. Sounds very strange. When I registered my boat, All I showed was a bill of sale, that didnt even have the right serial number on it. Where the boat came from wasnt even questioned.

Good Luck

hehe, I misread that. thought you said Country not county... I cant see you having a problem with a boat from another county, so something is messed up there for sure. Pick up the phone. Call them back

There has to be more to it. Many of the older boats have not been registered and are just sitting in someone's backyard. I have never heard of anyone having a problem as long as they had a bill of sale.

Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Game and Inland Fisheries:

"Never registered or titled in Virginia or any other state: Affidavit form must be filled out, and watercraft may be inspected by a law enforcement officer."

That's all the application says.
