Re: Boat Shopping SUCKS

Todays inquiry was a guy wanting to know if I would trade for a 66 mustang.

Sweet! I've had so many random trade offers for stuff that it's not even funny. Lots of motorcycles, a really nice '65 Impala, home improvement services, etc. Though you never know until you ask. I inherited a $1000 (appraised) women's ring that had zero sentimental value, I traded it plus cash for a '91 Land Cruiser. Talk about random.....

And let me guess, there were no pictures of this mustang. Could be a $100k ultra rare numbers matching car or a $500 rusty shell. Nice. I think there are a lot of guys out there who've seen too many episodes of "Barter Kings"

I had a 95 Yamaha 4x4 400cc ATV with 800 miles for sale on craigslist once. A guy emailed and said "are you interested in trades?"
me "if the market value is higher than my ATV then yes" (my thought was hey let's see what he's got, you never know...)
him "it is"
me "umm OK, what is it?"
him "a 94 Polaris 4x4 400cc ATV"

 Why on earth would two guys get together and trade almost identical ATVs, and since when is an old Polaris worth more than a Yamaha??? Knowing old Polaris ATVs I'm guessing he was trying anything he could to pawn off a lemon.
