Boat stalls on idle

Hello I have a 150 suzuki that sometimes cuts out on idle when it gets warmed up.

For example I was out last weekend and went for a 8 mile boat ride and when we came back into the marina i brought it to an idle and it stalled about 5 times before it would stay running.

Also if we run out to a fishing spot shut the moter off it does the same thing too. the boat will start up fine and idle fine till you put it in gear. The idle is not set too low.

a bad primer bulb may cause this. the primer bulb has 2 check valves that work with the fuel pump. I have had Tempo tanks that sucked a little air in the pickup causing idle problems. if the quick connect fittings are old they can suck air also.

ditto jl. these two problems that are usually overlooked are common with most all outboards. They should be some of the first troubleshooting checks to made before one starts tinkering with carbs and fuel pumps, IMO
After the engine has run at or near normal operating speeds and you slow to an idle try pumping up the primer bulb and see then if it stays idling. I have found the outboard will run at on near normal operating speeds even if the primer bulb is not fully hard, but at idle it usually will cut off in a matter of a short time if the primer bulb is not fully hard.
