My boat has this swim step with one step that pulls out and goes down about 12 inches. Its as worthless as the 3.0 mercruiser. Okay, bad joke there because most likely someone with a 3.0 will have the perfect advice for me. I want to put a 3-4 step ladder on here, but don't know how it will fit, and dont want to buy and have to return if I can't get it to work. I was wondering if anyone else had a swim step like this that they changed out. I am the second owner and am not sure if this swim step originally came with the boat. These are the only pics I have on my comp, if someone needs more, i can take pics of the step pulled out, or under the step. Thanks

That is the OE swim step.

Take some measurements of the existing step, look at what is available in the same size with 2 or 3 steps, and order it. Also be sure to turn the outdrive full to the starboard so you know how much clearance you need when makeing a tight right hand turn.

I didnt think a 2-4 step ladder would fit in there, because it has a one step that is part of the existing swim step. I wonder why Bayliner even used this one step ladder, it barely goes into the water.

I dont understand what you mean about taking measurements, this step slides out and folds down and is not a telescoping ladder and it doesn't fold underneath or any of the other ladders that you can see online. That's why I was wondering if someone out there has the same type of step and found an appropriate fix for this issue.

You may be better off with a top mounted swim platform ladder that mounts to the top of the platform, and then flips out off the back of the platform and telescopes into the water. Just get with customer service, or the manufacturer and make sure you have clearance to mount the ladder where you want it. Another option, which may be more than you want is to fabricate a new wood, or fiberglass swim platform that will suit your needs and mount a new ladder to that. Here is a pic of the ladder I'm talking about, and a link to it on i-boats.

I just measured and it looks like over the top of the platform ladder will fit. I ordered the 4 step one, and will update with pictures when its installed. Thank you for the help.

I put a telescopic ladder on my old boat when I built the swim platform and mounted it under...couldn't yours be done that way?

Excellent, glad that worked out for you, looking forward to the pics... When I get my swim platform re-mounted and before I head to the lake, I'm planning on installing the same 4-step ladder...
