Re: Boat tilting

This is my fourth boat. I've been boating for about 6 years. Not tons of experience but a newby either. They all have tilted a bit but was able to adjust it with the TTs. This one.....simply will not stay leveled. Like I said before, I adjust it and it then starts tilting to the other side after a while (sometimes right away, sometimes after a couple of minutes). It could very well be how this boat is but I truly hope it is not. Seaswirls are good boat and I would have a hard time believing this is "normal".

I had a center console with a 150 HP outboard and, while it tilted to the left, I could fix it by moving weight around (no TTs on this one)

I'm planning to take the boat out this Monday to test it by myself with no weight and in the lake (less and smaller waves).

BTW, I looked again at the bottom of the boat and I have a "rocker". Very small curve but for sure not a hook!

I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks.

Re: Boat tilting

I just checked and yes, the tabs are Bennett. I also read their operating instructions and I may be at fault by overcompensating when list is happening. I will see what happens on Tuesday.

Thank you all.

If you can tell there is a rocker (or hook) while the boat is on the trailer it is probably worse than it looks. You need to find someone that knows about hooks & rockers and lift the stern of the boat off the trailer (I use 6" x 8" x 18" blocks and a bottle jack) and check the hull. While most folks attribute porpoising to rockers they will also cause them flop from side to side on V hulls.

Re: Boat tilting

While your out on the water note where the spray comes off the hull. Is it in front of the windshield or back near the stern. On calm days would normally trim where the spray come off the hull mid boat or further astern.

On the hydrafoil. It lifts the motor so your trying to balance the boat on the motor. Trying to balance on the motor will make it less stable not more stable.
