How many of you?especially those from cold weather climates with craft longer than 18 feet?regularly transport your boats more than once per season? Are you launching and recovering every weekend? Dragging a boat and trailer around hither and yon?

Or do you plunk your baby down in your favorite puddle in May and never trailer it again until winter storage in Oct/November?

we have a 23 foot, 4800lb, deck boat, that has seen all parts of Florida. always trailered. also 20 ft pontoon. a properly set up trailer can be as easy as pulling into a mooring. saving the cost of the dockage, leaves more $ for fuel. the boat is headed to the Fl Keys, next week for a month.

Re: Boat Transport Frequency?

I have one I put in the water at the house in May and it will stay there year round, although i have a trailer for transport, hurricanes, etc. or if I want to take it long distance.
A smaller one I keep in the water (or did when it was running) in the summer; trailer at the ramp in winter; I take it up to the eastern shore about 6 times a year.
So after reading here about all the trailering and launching I consider myself lucky that those are seldom part of my boating day.

We have a Sea Ray Sundeck 200.... Normal procedure is to dump it in the lake on Saturday morning and pull it out on Sunday night.... Just can't stand a dirty boat and don't like leaving it in the lake for weeks and getting crud all over the hull. On occasion, it might stay in for a week if it is going to get used during the week.

The 20' pontoon gets dumped in when the ice breaks and is one of the last out at the end of the year.

I take my 19 foot Bayliner everywhere. It takes about 5 minutes to get it in the water with my E-Z-Loader trailer. I can go in any direction and find water within 30 minutes.

I put mine in a slip the end of March and leave it until the first of May. From there on out it's on the trailer to follow the fish. Have boat will travel to catch fish. Usually 100 miles or so each way.

Winter storage in October? Heck, I don't even get serious until the week of Thanksgiving. The best fishing of the season usally takes place during the Christmas holidays.
