is NADA the only organization that has "book" values on used boats? I called several banks here they did not even seem to know- they said "we call a boat dealer"
??

Re: Boat values- only NADA

My bank used NADA, and I'm pretty sure that's a common practice for most lenders. NADA (as far as I know) is the authority in boat valuation. Although it's really just a guide. There are many factors that can alter what you can actually sell or buy a boat for that NADA wouldn't necessarily reflect (location, time of year, shortage or excess in your area etc.).

I believe there are other sites that offer boat values by submitting a request to them. But I've never used them so can't really say what kind of result you'd get. Most everyone uses NADA. Just remember that the trailer value is separate from the boat. I had people low balling me because they didn't realize the trailer's value was separate and added another $1,000.
