When I'm cruising in the no wake zones my boat is all over the place, I have to constantly correct. Is this normal? I have a 79 OMC stringer with a mechanical lower.

Yes. TOTALLY normal........just go a tiny bit faster......

Boats with no keel being "pushed" well behind the center of gravity (rear-drive) at slow speed do this (longitudinal instability)....... at slightly higher speeds the (v-bottom) keel becomes more and more effective at keeping the boat straight.

Thanks for the heads up:) I just didn't remember it doing this but its been a while with a major hull repair and change out of the lower units in between. Thanks it all makes sense, like you say its not a sailboat. Glad to be aboard Bond o
