Can anybody tell me how much a 1977 Lund sirius 17' with an outboard. Just kinda intresred, need to know if I should start looking into trailer brakes, cause I drive a 2003 Santa fe 4wd(awd) with the 3.5 v6 with 3300# towing without trailer brakes, 4500 with so anybody who has any info would be very helpful

Ayuh,.... Drag it to a Scale, 'n weigh it....

I doubt yer over 3300lbs...

A 1978 model weighs 1150.

Plus the outboard, batteries, fuel, gear, cooler, spare tire, and trailer.

Probably 2200-2500#

BUT, are you sure those tow rating numbers are right?
Most owners manuals are saying you need brakes with anything over 1500-2000#.
I know my 2 trucks do.

adding trailer surge breaks are easy and not too expensive. anything with breaks is better than without.

how does she stop now? i used to pull an older 20 footer on a single axle that weighed 4100 without breaks...wasnt bad but got real scarry once. spent an weekend installing them and made a huge difference!! the trailer would almost stop the tow vehicle!

I got it weighted , with half tank of gas, and trailer, 2580lbs
