Hello

I am new here and looking for some answers to purchase a boat. New or used?

I am looking for a boat that is trailerable with my Lexus LX470. Max towable weight is 6500 lbs.

My biggest concerns are bathroom and water. What kind of boat should I be looking at?

Thank you.

Generally speaking you will be boating IN the water, and if you jump over the side, you can use the bathroom.

Beyond that, It really depends on what other features you are looking for, you can have a head on a pretty small boat, and a fresh water system can actually be set up in a jon boat.

Give a little more information, where you are boating, what you expect to do with the boat, etc. and you will surely get a great deal of replies and ideas.

My better half to be will not go on a boat without bathroom facility. I want a boat that I can fish and do some tub pulling. Other than that, I am open to ideas since I have never owned a boat before.

How does the fresh water system work?

You might be best served by a small cuddy cabin boat or a deck boat. They have room for a "bathroom" facility and of course you will have to drain the holding tank on shore.

As far as fresh water. You can get a fresh water system that consists of a tank (usually poly) and an on demand pump. I am sure you would find a small 5 gallon system more than adaquate.

For freshwater lakes and rivers you can get a "changing room" option on a pontoon that will house a potti. And there are good fishing configurations for 'toons.

Older kids will want the tubing to be a thrill ride, deckboats can provide that. Not so serious for fishing however. Can be used easily for both freshwater and salt.

For saltwater a WalkAround or small express will certainly have potti on board. The larger Center Console types (21' and up) can also have a console big enough to include a step-down compartment for a potti. That is a center console shown in the avatar for studlymandingo. Superb for fishing.

So lots of options. I would suggest considering how important freshwater vs salt is for you as a first step.

I was looking at Sea Ray 200 and Maxum 2100 SC. Are these good boats? Also, can they go out on the ocean or the Bay?

Also, just looked at Bayliner 219. Has both shower and bathroom. Bayliner any good?

what other brand of boats are out there that are reputable?

I feel like a little kid in a candy store. Where is a good place to shop for used boats online?

Thank you and sorry for so many questions.
