Re: boating fever

I hear yah! Here in the banana belt of Southern Ontario it is just as cold and we have snow everywhere. After last winter, I don't think this winter will ever end. I can't go sit in my boat, it's in storage until mid March, but I do go to Timmys and get my coffee then drive up to the lake shore and watch the ice floes go by.

Re: boating fever

I went and sat in my boat the other night. I sure miss it. Snowmobiling is fun but it is not like boating.

I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL SPRING.

I get so bad I have to walk out on the lake, but at 10'f and a 25 mph wind it's just not the same. The best I can do is hang out with you guys.

Its bad man. I just bought a new boat three weeks ago. I have had it in the lake 3 times on nice days. Had to run the pink stuff through the block after each use. Can't wait until its nice out and I can take it out without the camper top on and not have to put the pink stuff in the block after each use.

Its been -40 or colder all week. But spring will be here in 2 months!
Should be in the water by the end of May, if all the ice is off the lakes.

I guess we are spoiled in the southern parts of the states. I won't take the boat out if it is less than 50 outside. I went Idaho last summer it was in the low 60's people were wakeboarding and tubing. I thought there is no way I am getting in the water unless it is in the 80s outside. I can't imagine how cold it is in saskatchewan during the summer.

Told the wife I couldn't stand it any more and was going to go sit in the boat and drink beer. Bless her heart she said "I'll grab some wine and join you"! Fired up the Mr Heater, zipped up the back and planned our fishing trips for the summer. I realized she's as crazy as me and how lucky I am to have her.

Yea same thing here. I have started the annual cleaning and putting the gear back in the boat pre-launch ritual. Picked up tools and put those away, vacuumed the carpet, ordered a bottle of 303, packed the life jackets under the seats, went through the first aid kit and stowed it. Today will be cleaning the vinyl and putting the battery on charge, pulling out the fishing rods to be cleaned oiled and new line put on. Tomorrow is putting on the last needed part and Sunday is the first shake down run if the weather holds.

While it can snow in any month in Saskatchewan, it can be nice and hot in July and August. It can also be cold though.
We say July and August are the worst months for the snow machines:)

Re: boating fever

My boat is sitting in the garage begging me to come and play with it. Soon it will be time to start getting things ready. I do sneak out there and look at things and day dream about what I need to do.
