Boat is still in storage. I want to go get her but the 14" of snow the other day has slowed that plan. Now they are predicting 12-15 more tomorrow! We have not had snow like this in many years in this part of the country. Sure hope it can help fill the lakes that are at 50% of their capacity. Driveway is shoveled so i enjoy a cup of coffee and shopping for necessities online. Stuff sure adds up. Once the boat is back at the house, i enjoy cleaning and sitting inside seeing what i can do to modify or add to make things nicer or easier on the water. I am ready for the weather to cooperate so i can be blasting across the water!

Re: boating fever

Sorry, I cannot sympathise. The only reason I am not boating is due to other obligations. Weather has been beautiful in Central Florida, and I cannot understand why everyone doesnt live where they can boat year round. LOL.

Trust me, it is still just as exciting. I love snow, just glad I dont have to deal with it. I can go visit if I get too homesick.

Told the wife I couldn't stand it any more and was going to go sit in the boat and drink beer. Bless her heart she said "I'll grab some wine and join you"! Fired up the Mr Heater, zipped up the back and planned our fishing trips for the summer. I realized she's as crazy as me and how lucky I am to have her.

LMAO! Read this to my wife and she LOL too!

Piece of cake, Little. I now have TWO HDS 7's and a merc monitor all networked together. If I can figure it out, anyone can. Go for it and I'd be happy to walk you through it if you have problems. PM me with any questions..... you will love the new technology!

Re: boating fever

Our household has the fever too and it doesn't help that we purchased a 2003 Bayliner 265 this weekend. However, we live in the warm south and we were able to take her out this weekend.

The other spring, the ice pack had moved half way out of our bay. There was a guy with an aluminum fishing boat sitting in the middle of the half a bay of water!
I don't know if he was wearing a survival suit or not.

Re: boating fever

HA! One of the many reasons I moved from Oregon to Phoenix. I boat all year long. Not as much in the winter but I get the fever so I just take a ride on the lake and I get over it.
Even though it's desert around here, we have a surprising amount of lakes and rivers around here. I'm very lucky. I can be from my driveway to the boat ramp in less than 20 minutes. I take a nice ride on the lake, perhaps lunch at the restaurant at the marina and if I like, I'll wet a line. Gotta love the hot desert weather if you're a boater.

Re: boating fever

It was about 40* here yesterday and I took mine out for a quick run up and down the river; it was nice to get out and makes me think about the longer trips when the weather gets warm. I keep it in the water and try to run it every 2 weeks to keep the juices flowing, after the fishing season goes out Dec 31 (which is still too cold for recreational boating).
I still get some boating in during January for duck hunting but they are usually short runs, too.
Mid- April is when it gets warm enough to be pleasant and for my wife to want to go along, and lasts until mid-October. From then it's cold weather fishing, but around here we frequently get warm days then.

It's nice to be in a temperate zone and to have those "sneak days" to go out when it should be cold. Golfers agree. it's another benefit of not having to winterize (ie not having an i/o) becuase I can jump in and go anytime, and just tie it up when I get back.

FL is definately in the works as a possible move "some day", I have to admit- I do like ending the season sometime around October as it allows me to get serious about school and other obligations rather every weekend on the boat.

With that said- I'm crawling up the walls and hit my peak last weekend! (dreary/ rainy saturday and couldnt do anything outside). Planning to get the boat sometime next month so I can start work on the bottom paint.

If it werent for needing a new Tow Vehicle, I'd go boat shopping:)!
