Boating in the Ocean?

I've never thought about towing insurance, or needed it. We boat on the Miss river pools between L&Ds. Our river place is on a slough leading to a Marina, ramp, gas dock. I see plenty getting towed by fellow boaters. Apparently there are enough good guys on the water to make it work. I've towed three to the nearest ramp in 22 yrs. I hope the good deeds result in good Karma if I ever go down. When we go out for a spin, I generally go up river. Worst case the current will get me home.

Besides all of the necessary safety equipment and as far as the boat/trailer are concerned. RINSE RINSE RINSE and FLUSH FLUSH and then RINSE more, then rinse with fresh water again. I fish only saltwater and am anal about my boat maintenance, it's amazing how caustic saltwater is and the damage it does.
