Re: Boating or Dirt-Biking

I personally have found that it is hard to water ski, tube, and fish on a dirt bike. With my experience of dirt bikes? They are like boats somewhat. They both require maintenance. I know I was always breaking stuff on the bike as well as myself. I gave up playing in the dirt to play in the water. Haven't got hurt from it yet (sunburns don't count)! :D I Vote Boat! Good luck on yer decesion!

i guess the main reason i prefer boating is that i could never really enjoy the same level of relaxation on a bike, especially a dirt bike.

The bikes can be a ton of fun. I was into motocross for about 7 years. The thing you need to look at is where can you ride them. Where I live open land for trail riding is hard to find. If your into racing (the kids can start around the age of 5) the cost can run up fast (bikes, parts, safety equipment, entry fees)look to spend about $100.00 a day at the track. If you chose the bikes buy and use the safety equipment. We sold all the bikes but one just so we can fire it up and play in the yard. Found a 18' fish and ski with a 120 and having a blast! I vote boat.

P.S Boats or Bikes use the safety equipment its there for a reason!

I got to tell you the balanding of the two warm weather sports is extremely tough!!!

I don't MX but I have a full Harley Dresser and about mid-week the two different groups start calling you "you want to go to..."

Thats where the Ultra in my name comes from, my biker friends they call me Ultra John because I had the first Ultra Clasic Eletric Glide in my club.

The balancing act is tough, you can pick and choose but someone feels left out. Luckely my wife is game for it all, she's good to go!

I do ok balancing but some friends will not be happy with your decision.

It can work but it is easier to pick one or the other.

Good Luck, Good Waterbiking :)

I think that most boaters were or are bikers at one time or another. One thing is for sure, you don't have to worry about the crazy drivers that pull out in front of you, and crowd you off the road. But then again I almost forgot about the PWC riders. Hey Howzit, did you think about a couple of PWC's? And for Capt Ultra, In town here, there are several HD owers that have small catamarans that they pull to the lakes, so they can enjoy both at the same time. By the way, it is helarious to watch them at the ramp! :D

You can't loose. What do the kids say? Go for the bikes for a year or two. Sell whats left of them and buy a boat.
Does your wife agree either with boat or the four dirt-bikes? Ahh, one is for your brother, right? ;)

I had a Suzuki SP 500 a long time ago. Rode it during the winthers. That was FUN. I still have my Kawasaki Kz 750 E 1980, since 1981. Who is #34 anyone? Ok off topic, but those where the days :D
/Bear

It doesn't matter how good of a rider you are.The day will come when the bluehair pulls out in front of you, or the tree jumps out into your path.
I say fugetaboudit..Get a boat.
I used to race dirt bikes. Never so much as a scratch.I got a big cruiser, and the froghead turned right in front of me. I have a pin in my right leg, from ankle to knee, a herniated disc (surgicaly trimmed), and two boats. A no brainer for me. Given the opertunity, I'd still have a another fat cruiser too...But my wife would worry every time I took it out.

Hozit? Howzit
My opinion: Boaters, bikers, and cowboys share the same blood.
BOAT braek, out, another thousand.
HD (i ride a harley) Hundred dollars
I'd say your a glotten for punishment either way.
Count the moving parts. How mandy Motor cycle motors, tires, bearings, pads and other acssesories including goggles helmes and boots for the team. Whose gonna supply the gas oil mix and how are you gonna haul those bikes.
Will either scenario ever leave the carport? They say charter is smarter, if it floats, flies, or is a dirt bike.
