I hear that, I def get stressed out when running my trot line. Unless you get ten crabs in 600 ft. I usually have trouble keeping the line in the right spot, and it gets too slacked a lot. And people missing crabs really gets me too.

Well I dug out my crab traps,,,, got the 5 day fishing license Ill wait to see what the weather is going to be before I purchase a crab license. I thought last year the 5 day License came with a rec crab license, apparently this year it dont. Come to think of it I think i got the bay sport combo last year.

Re: Boating the Upper Chesapeake

Good news!! Labor Day is next weekend.

We'll be out Labor day too, it's Ragin on The River Powerboat races!!!

http://www.portdepositcc.org/ragin/index.htm

Yeah and unfortunately I have to work Saturday and Sunday as of now. :( Wouldn't be surprised if I end up having to work on Monday too! If not though we will head down Sunday night and stay late into the day Monday as long as the weather is good.

Man, its time for a new job. Don't want another summer like this one where I miss a lot of boating time due to work.

Maybe we will see some of you guys out there next weekend if I can get out of being trapped on the inside of these four walls at work like right now.

Hi,
I I just booked a slip for a long weekend on 9/12.
We will be staying in a slip at Bar harbor on the Bush river
Denny

Make sure you say hi to the guy that keeps every thing there running smooth and the slips in such great condition, what was his name, ummm, oh yeah, thats right, it's me. Seriously, I have lived on the Bush for 21 years and love it, some of the best crabbing and catfish around are right under the power lines near the Amtrak bridge. Bar harbor really is a nice family place and always good to hear others think so too. What slip are you in, I'll have to stop by and say hi. I hope you have a great weekend while your down:)

can you please check to see if there is still bow ropes attached to the outer poles on #21..Oh by the way, wade out obut 30' off the boat ramp and get that big boulder out of the way so i dont mess up my prop again..LOL:D............I think I did meet you last year up by the pool..you guys do a great job keeping up with things....thanks

Hey jackangel, I drove down to the ramp one day, and I was curious, where do you park your rig if you are not camping?

I know this question was for jack but ill answer it quick then he can fill it in...there is large stone lot up by the entrance gate where you can park your truck and trailer. I usally drop my trailer in the lot (lock the toung) then park my truck in the parking lot next to the office. its a shorter walk that way:)

Thanks Denny, I must have driven right past the lot and not noticed.

Have you ever rented the floating house?

you must have, soon as the gate opens there is a lot on the left and right.

Never stayed in the floating house the price was a ittle to salty for last years budget $950 a week since it was our second vacation for that year.

We stayed in the park model which is basicly a small doublewide right on the river, 4 steps and your wet.. It was very nice except for the snakes that liked to sun bathe on the porch..LOL that was around $750.00 + free boat slip for that. we enjoyed it, we might book it again for next year.... there is a dock right in front of the floating house + the park model but the water is too low to put a boat there. You have to keep your boat at the main dock. Here is their web-site if you need it for pricing or for info...

Denny is right about the parking and the other slips being shallow, but the good news is that we are thinking about doing some dredging next spring, and the main slips are fine even at low tide. I'll check on those bow lines for ya monday when I go to work.

I think the dredging will be worth the money and be a great improvement. A couple of deep channels going to the docks by the floating houses/park models and a little cleaning up of the silt by the main docks will be sweet....I will private message you closer to the time when we come down for more info on more fishing holes etc and maybe you can stop in for a hotdog and some cool-aid;).
It was a pleasure to talk with you,
Denny

The pics look great and I really need to get down there. My buddy's brother goes in around Havre de Grace with a bunch of other people.

My wife has Sunday and Monday off next week and I would really like to make a trip down there.

Re: Boating the Upper Chesapeake

Nice day today, ran up to Georgetown, before we anchored for a dip and a late lunch. Beautiful weather.

The weather was absolutely wonderful! We were out for a couple of hours in the late afternoon. My brother, sister-in-law, sister and her fianance were all down so we just stay up above Charleston and did some tubing and water-sking for the afternoon. Nice beautiful day and the water temp is still nice and warm!

Do it! You won't regret it! Come on down and enjoy the weekend! Should be lots of boats out and so far the weather is looking good! I am hoping to be down Sunday evening and Monday!
