Re: Boating the Upper Chesapeake

I'm going to stick to the Bohemia or Sassafras, and thinking about Stemmer's Run to launch from. Heck, maybe even that area is too riddled with debris (Stemmer's?) -- not sure.

I won't be out Saturday... just Sunday -- that's the plan, pending feedback about how dangerous it is.

I see the C/D Canal every day, and there are tons of logs. I work near the Delaware River, and that's a total mess.

The Chessie is a mess, too? DANG. Heck, maybe I will drag the beast down to Lewes, DE and hit the Delaware Bay, Ocean and the intercoastal behind Cape May. I can get down there in less than an hour.

Sucks. Beautiful weather, full tank of gas, and I'm stuck on my lift.

Has anybody seen the gunpowder river? That should be clear, right. I'm going with a friend on a sea trial Saturday and I am hoping to get all the way into the bay.

Had this little gem float up today. That would have put a nice little nick in the gelcoat.

We Spent the past week camping in Elk Neck. Sorry to here about Bowmans Sailboat! and anyone else that had 'trouble'. Hopefully things work out for you all...

The Northeast River and Elk River sure looked nice and with "Thunder on the Bay" all those $$$$ racers didn't seem to mind. We had an early dinner at the Nauti-Goose to see them. Too bad for us the motor is still on the rack! Next couple weeks look nice before winterizing. Maybe we'll finally meet some of you from here.

God speed to those with troubles and keep it safe.

Jeesh... it's in the 50's and will be mostly in the 60's with a chilly wind. Nothing kills the mood around here faster than the weather. :(

Not heading out today.

Wear a jacket! We're heading out in a few minutes with Andrew and Ashley's Formula in tow. Lunch at the Inn!

How was the ramp at the Inn? I heard it was alittle small for 22'+.

I've never used their ramp. We launched A&A's Formula at Lapidum where I normally launch, the ramp was covered in mud but there were ruts for the wheels LOL. Here's me pulling out after we dropped their boat in.

Fall Colors Run

Fall Colors Run

I know there are several members here that aren't apart of the Facebook group, so I wanted to pass this along. On October 23rd we are doing a Fall Colors Run. It is the second to last Sunday of October. For many of us this will be the last time we take the boat out before it gets winterized. I'm not exactly sure on where the cruise will start and finish, but that will be planned once we know who all is coming..

Thanks, hope to see some of you there!

Re: Fall Colors Run

We'll be there for sure. I will send out an invite through the facebook group as well! Think Turkey Point would be a good meeting point?

We have to get an action shot of your Formula too for your sig.

Re: Fall Colors Run

I'll plan to make the Fall Run, too.
If the wx is decent I can anchor near APG and "Winter Dream" can be the 'lunch stop'.
I've got a BBQ......

Today ended up a lot nicer than the forecast.
I stayed at the slip all day doing maintenance, but there was no rain and the sun was out- well, some of the time.

Also, I've been wondering- what happened to Bowman's sailboat?
Did he successfully retrieve it? What damage did it have? Where is it now?

Yes, today turned out really nice. I took a little run up to Middle River w/ the family for lunch. Even let the wife drive home...

Re: Fall Colors Run

We did 85 miles today. Some minefield conditions, but the bay and it's tribs were flat. A lot of fog when we went out, but it was near land. Went to Fairlee creek, then up to the Inn and back.

We were the only trailer in the lot when we launched at noon!
