Re: ***attention hdg basin silted in***

So what is the plan for the fall run? I need a good run before I put her to sleep for the winter. I already reserved the date with the admiral and she will be with me unless its a bit cold or gray or choppy or mucky or windy or trashy or she is not feeling well. I am the only one on the planet without face book so keep me up to speed here if you dont mind? I like not having face book. I still get surprised when people tell me stuff when I run into them. Between face book and texting speaking is becomming a dieing art. :)
The plan is to run from NE at the Goose, to the Chesapeake Inn, for an approximate lunch at 1pm. I used to be anti-facebook but the boating group is awesome, and I do use it to network in the real estate world. And I have no problem with speaking, just ask anyone who knows me, I never shut up LOL.

So who will be out this weekend? I plan on a run from DE city to the Chesapeake Inn for lunch on Sunday. My wife will have to see part of the eagles game so we should be there by 1. Is there anybody here from Cove marina? I have a buddy with a 25' searay looking for a place to keep it and he is thinking about the Cove.
Bill, I may put in at Salem Creek and come over from there. Maybe we can meet up. I'll send you a PM with contact info.

We'll be out Sunday the 9th around noon, with daughter and granddaughter. Hanging in the elk and bohemia. What other nice ramps are around, public or marina? I only know of Rogues, Anchor Marina, HdG (have not checked out Bay boatworks yet). I have to be careful how far I go due to an old (but fun) gas hog 2 stroke and 12 gals of gas! I don't go much more than 15 - 20 miles as I insist on having fuel left when I retrieve. No VHF radio yet  I do have a camping radio if anyone uses them I'd be on 16-6:redface:

You got it. It is indeed "Hard Crab" and he has an Island slip at Tydings for the rest of the year.

You guys are killing me!! I am keeping my eye open for a 28' - 34' project boat this winter. We'll see what happens.

We're ready for an early start next season :) BTW when do boat fishing and crabbing licenses go on sale for 2012? Neither of us has fished or crabbed for many years and are looking forward to it in 2012.

And of course, i toyed with your emotions during this purchase, sorry! I am going to out it back on the island at least until January. I would like to have it on the hard this Winter though, if I am going to do any work on her.
Stacey told me we need a Jet Ski today instead of a dingy LOL. That's not going to happen! I need a slip on pier 6!

No worries! There are more boats out there, lol. I will find one sooner or later, I was actually surprised my wife was half interested too. So that is a step in the right direction, lol. And I am HAPPY for you guys and EXCITED to see "Hard Crab" on the water soon. Next years raft ups are going to be awesome ;)

I need a slip on pier 6!

Now that would be "the icing on the cake!"

Re: ***attention hdg basin silted in***

i bet a good run would be broad creek, north of the dam. launch at glen cove, and go like 4 or 5 miles north, and take a left into broad creek.

It is a river enclosed by 300 ft cliffs on both sides, with trees and houses on them.

You feel like your in WV or something. Almost like the move deliverence.

Hey Bowman, just curious what ever happened with the sailboat. I think that you said it was recovered. Any more damage than the front cleats? I see that you haven't put it back on that mooring yet, just wondering what you ended up doing with her? Hope all faired well.

I have it down on apg, on a mooring there.
I think i might go back to a marina in hdg to get it pulled out for the winter.

Scott, I told ya... Jet Ski.....

Brandon, if you are looking for a cheap used boat, come by my marina some time. Maybe make a stop off after the fall colors run. There are a lot of boats in the 30 ft / sub 10K range...

Sweet, might just have to do that. I am looking into a 28' Carver now, love the Huge flybridges! Just got to see what it will cost to truck it here, its about 6 hours away, so I am not holding my breath on that one.

Scott, sorry to hear about the vehicle issues! Hang in there, once everything is fixed, it will be all worth it. And I know that you still want the Trojan, but our probably just overwhelmed with everything right now. Hang on to it, by spring you will be thrilled that you kept it! Let me know if I can give you a hand with anything.

I think that my wife would like something with a little bit larger flybrige as we tend to have guests with us, but thanks for thinking of me.
