im refurbishing a boat can i use marine wax to whiten it or do i need to put something else on before. it still looks dingy after washing the hell out of it.

Wax will only seal in what is there, not get rid of anyhting.

Sounds like you need to buff it with some finishing compound.

I clean my boats with "Snow Bowl" toilet cleaner. Spray it on and wash the dingy stains away. Dollar store brands called The Works, works just as well.

Heavy duty rubbing compound.....you won't look back once you see what it can do.
