what gives?
i called bob's machine shop last week and asked the secratery if the lightweight eletric jackplate will support my 250 V8. she said she checked with bob and he said no problem. i went to order one today and the woman said NO WAY!!! no V8's on their jackplates. Dhadley: you recommended for me to run bob's setup. have you done this with a V8 before? thanks...james

Electric? I would use the hydraulic 6" or 10". They will hold a V8. But not that little hydraulic one, I dont think its rated that big.

The electric ones I've seen had trouble lifting a 50 hp motor.

Yes, we have run the V8's on Bobs hydraulic stuff. No problem.
