Body Filler after sanding ?

I'm going over the outside of my fiberglass tri-hull sanding out the chips in the gel coat and spider cracks down to the fiberglass. Also sanding off all the years of silicone added around the removed bolt and screw holes. I'm totally rebuilding the hull and repainting it.

Question...do I have to apply a thin coat of epoxy over the bare fiberglass to protect it ? Will the interlux 2-part paint protect it enough ?

Also what's the best way to fill screw/bolt holes ? Epoxy resin mixed with fiberglass strands or cabosil to a peanut butter thickness and fill ?

I used epoxy with cabosil and milled fibers mixed in to fill some holes. I mixed mine a little thicker then peanut butter since I was fighting gravity on the fill.

I know too that Interlux makes fillers (epoxy based I believe) for above and below the waterline.
