I have a 1994 mariner 2 stroke 4 cylinder o/b. When I first launch and take off it runs maybe 1/2 throttle for about 200 yards then it opens up and will not do this again all day. The next time I use it, it does the same thing. Carburetor so were cleaned, have a new power pack and trigger

What horsepower ?----Why those new expensive parts ?------Thermostat installed and working properly ?----Do you give the motor some time to warm up ?

Open the low speed mixture needles a 1/4 turn and test run.----If still bogging open another 1/4 turn.

The procedure outlined for you is free and costs you no money.-----Anything that is free is " worth saving for "

I had the same issue with my motor bogging down.. I cleaned the crab's had them adjusted, all that... but it still bogged down..but I was told by every outboard mechanic that it was the crab's not cleaned correctly... so I took the crab's to a shop and they put the crab's in a shaker machine. I was told that the small ports in the crab's were closed.... just something to think about..
