Quick, Grade 8 bolts are the strongest available. If you are using them in a thru-bolted application, and they are long enough to fully penetrate the lock nut plus an additional diameter of the bolt - length, they sure sound like an the right bolt.

I guess I am still surprized that they are not stainless.

Chris1956, these dead end into the engine block (powerhead). No nut on the other end just a masive amount of power (okay maybe only 75 ponies but still)
