I have a torque wrench that only has foot/lbs on it. I have specs for 120 in/lbs on my head. Can I divide foot/lbs by 12 to get in./lbs.?

120/12=10 (Damn I'm a math genius)

Re: Bolt Torque question

While that's correct, it is very likely your torque wrench will be very inaccurate at that setting. Normally, they go way out at their lower settings.
So try to buy or borrow an inch-lb reading wrench. I never use my ft/lb wrench for the range my inch/lb reading wrench covers (about 240inch/lbs - 20ft/lbs). The big one is deadly accurate at 25-100ft/lbs, but when set to 15ft/lbs it actually torques to 19ft/lbs.

Re: Bolt Torque question

You can find small bar type in/lb torque wrenches for under $20 at auto parts houses...then you may not be at the bottom of the scale. I bought one for $11 as a tool box backup and checked it against my expensive Klein clicker. It was very accurate thoughout the range...in fact, my other ft/lb bar torque wrench is very accurate too.
