I want to install an adjustable kicker bracket on my SeaPro 180cc...See similar boat image below. The transom lip for my main engine in only in the center so I must bolt a bracket on the starboard side (swim platform is on port side).

Any tricks to gaining access behind the transom to put on nuts and backing plates? If there is no access, are there any special toggle style bolts that will work? Motor will be about 70lbs.

You really need to be able to through bolt that bracket. Although the motor is not heavy, when you are bouncing around the bay or ocean while using the primary engine, the strain on the kicker and bracket will be heavy. See if there are some removable panels or cushions that will allow access.

I'll check when I get home if I can squeeze my hand in through where the fuel line comes throught he rubber grommet just to the right of my main engine.

When I have a difficult to reach area I epoxy a ss flange nut to a thick ss fender washer. Flange nuts have grooves so they won't loosen after tightening. then I epoxy a length of ss welding wire to the washer. With much care, oaths, imprecations and luck, I work it onto the bolt while someone else tightens it.

If I have someone available to spot weld, I do that instead of epoxy. But I always use the oaths and imprecations.
